FEBRUARY STEM SATURDAY: HEALTH SCIENCE AND INVENTIONS
On the first Saturday of each month, Northside STEM hosts a STEM Saturday for pre-K-8th grade youth! Join us on Saturday, February 10, as we engage youth in activities about Health Science and Inventions.
Pre-K-8 students will explore health science and inventions through hands-on activities.
Free event, lunch provided, raffles and awards.
This free event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Volunteers and community members will be available to help students with hands-on activities. Lunch will be provided.
TechCONNECTS! digital navigation support will be provided onsite.
Students will:
- Model the physical anatomy using edible ingredients
- Investigate particles that make up the bloodstream
- Learn to check pulse and identify main arteries involved
- Learn how the heart inflates and contracts when pumping blood
